Following a passion for photography and travel after many years as a professional wine maker, I now enjoy getting into the countryside trying best to capture what nature offers.
There are numerous landscape and travel photographers who have influenced and inspired me over the years, and continue to do so. The expertise and devotion they show is clearly seen in their extraordinary images. They motivate me!
My first throes into photography were as a boy in Kenya, Africa using a Bencini Comet II camera where an artistic passion manifested itself in me mainly through art and design rather than in imagery capture. In 2010, I bought my first digital SLR camera, a Nikon D90 with two kit lenses, and shortly afterwards added a Nikon 105mm macro lens and 1.4x teleconverter to my camera bag. The accessories, including lenses have steadily kept growing!
The dedication is there, so all I need now is patience and experience…
… and never to stop striving for that elusive perfect shot.
Most of all, I love the passion of photography and the way we are able to interact with our beautiful natural world in any way that is pleasing to the eye.
“When words become unclear, I shall focus with photographs. When images become inadequate, I shall be content with silence.”
